Cupping
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cupping is a method of applying a vacuum on the patient’s skin to dispel stagnant blood and lymph. Thus, improving qi flow by mobilizing blood flow promote healing. Cupping is used commonly applied on back, neck, shoulders and other fleshy areas.
By creating this suction and negative pressure, cupping is used to drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles, and stimulate the peripheral nervous system.
Cupping is used to ‘treat’ a broad range of medical conditions such as;
- Musculoskeletal conditions of trauma and pain.
- Respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia and bronchitis.
- rheumatic diseases (arthritic joint and muscular conditions)
- fertility and gynaecological disorders
